The Process of RESToration!

Hello Reader,

At the start of the second day of a RESTorative Retreat, my client asked me "How do you do all that do you?" and I gave her the same answer I have given for the last decade.

By the grace of God.

. . . and the reality is that I don't do it all. My house is dirtier than I'd like. The laundry is never put away. I only cook once a week, which is only possible because we're a big leftovers family and share the meal prep. And, most of all, my husband and kiddos are super supportive of the work I do!

So, no, I don't do it all.

In fact, I'm in recovery from trying to do it all.

If you've been around these parts for any length of time, you know I've walked through a healing journey of RESToration, learning how to truly find rest in a rhythm of many things calling for my attention. This has been a slow process of healing from workaholism, which really was my form of anxiety management.

Kody, my beloved OTTB rescue horse, has been a huge part of my healing over the last nine months, for he truly likes things light and soft and slowed down. There is no rushing our time together -- which has been SOOOO good for my body to discover how to be in the moment instead of running from thing to thing. Even in grad school. Even being an entreprenuer.

It is A M A Z I N G!

But I've not only learned this new way of doing life from Kody. Having the privilege to partner with the Honey Brook Stable horses in my equine-assisted coaching and learning work has been such a game-changer. Each one has taught me "feel" as they say in the horse world. That feel, I've decided, is what the mental health world calls "grounding."

It is about being in the moment.

Noticing the emotions.

Clarifying the intention.

These horses have truly improved not only my #horsemanship but also #humanship, and I am so excited to think about how this transformative work is not just for me but for your benefit too . . . yep, yours.

It is all about slowing down SOOOO that you can heal and grow.

Slow does not mean "do nothing," which has taken time for me to figure out. Yes, I can step embrace my entrepreneurial gifting with a steady, stable, and sustainable pace.

Adios hustle, hello thriving!

Yes, that is what happens when you take time to RESTore and reFOCUS. This is truly at the heart of the private RESTorative Retreats. Maybe it is exactly what you need too?

I'd love to help you find out!

Book a consultation session with me so we can chat about your next healing step forward! Whether it is a Restorative Retreat or a coaching package online or at the farm, I'm here to help you arise, stabilize, and thrive.

Yes it is possible for you, too!

Peace and grace,

Lisa

Do you ride? Or know someone who does?

For the last six months, I've been working on a special curriculum for equestrians in partnership with Horseclass.com. Finding Calm: Helping Riders Navigate through Fear and Anxiety is expected to release in the fall of 2023. Woot, woot! This curriculum is packed full of the neuropsychological perspective that informs the way we think, live, and ride! But it is not only rich in science, it is steeped in story -- not only mine but others -- as well as practical worksheets for cultivating connection, confidence, courage, and calm!

I am so excited about the way this material will help riders and also the opportunity to coach riders in the Finding Calm Coaching Program, which is open to horsepeople in any discipline, season, or stage who are ready to tackle their fear and anxiety with a mindset shift that will transform their riding and horsemanship. I would be so grateful if you forwarded this information to the riders in your life!
